Candace and I like to eat out a lot, but I suppose with frequent eating out comes an increase in bad service from the wait staff. Although this usually isn't anything worth writing about, lately we've had a few bad encounters, so I figured it would be worth mentioning. Bad service with us usually comes in the form of ridiculously long waits for even barebones service (things like getting drinks or even having a waiter show up at all), but occasionally this even extends to rude servers, wrong orders, and on one occasion, being seated in an otherwise nice section of a nice restaurant that also happened to smell like trash...
While I do get upset about these things, I'm finding that as time goes on I'm becoming less confrontational with the management in terms of reporting the problems. Maybe I'm just getting so used to it that it's not really phasing me all that much anymore, or perhaps I'm just tired of doing something about it. How a restaurant can end up offering such poor service is usually beyond me, but I guess that's just how the world is a lot of the time: complacent and insensitive to what's going on around them, much like people are with driving, education, self-improvement, and world affairs...
