Return to Rehearsing

Last night, three of us band members (drums, bass, and keys/vox) got together for our first rehearsal after my trip, and I'm proud to report that we made a lot of progress. It was too bad Jeremy couldn't be there to fill out the spectrum, but having a thinner texture also let us tackle the drum and bass parts more fully, allowing us to pretty much knock out a full song entirely (well, short of Emily's parts...but she's getting married this month, so that'll have to wait).

The biggest lesson I learned from this rehearsal though was that it's important for balance's-sake for us all to turn down a bit so we can better hear the whole mix. This worked really well last night, so if we can just build upon this idea with Jeremy, Emily, and perhaps another keys player in the future, we should be golden. Now all we've got to do is solidify a regular weekly rehearsal and the occasional studio time...our schedules thus far have been a bit difficult to work out, but hopefully settling on a regular time will facilitate the process and put us that much closer to our goal of getting a MySpace page up by the end of October.
