Generally Unbearable Summer

It seems like I've amassed quite a little collection of posts ranting and raving about the weather. Thus far, I've talked a bit about Atlanta's rare snow days, how much I adore Fall and hate Spring, global warming, and now a post on how freaking hot it's been in the South thus far this Summer. We're talking about super-high humidity and temperatures resting in the 90's all day long, barely cooling off at night. It's been quite unbearable really.

Look, like anyone else, I appreciate that I CAN wear shorts if I want to in the Summer, but on the flipside, I hate that I CAN'T wear evening jackets (for fashion reasons, not to stay warm) and many of my longer-sleeved clothing items, as it's just plain unbearable, even later in the night. I mean, this seriously cuts out about half of my favorite outfits. Generally speaking, I think Georgia's early Spring is about as hot as I can bear...I like having it be cool enough to wear a couple layers, but not so cold as to force it everytime. To be fair though, Georgia never gets all that cold, so that's not really an issue...instead, we just get these horrible Summers.

That said, the Summer Solstice just passed this past week, so if nothing else, it means we can now expect the days to start getting shorter and for the weather to start cooling down. Thank god.
