Last night I reconnected with my buddy JP and his girlfriend Bonnie for the first time in possibly six months or so, and as usual, we met up to go dancing. Unfortunately, dancing wasn't something we ended up actually doing, despite paying good money to be at a dance club with famous dance DJs. See, when we bought our tickets to see famous Dutch trance DJs Above & Beyond, we weren't paying attention that the show had an 18+ age limit...so, as you can imagine, it was pretty much high school prom out in the city (granted, with much more specific music). Add to this the fact that Bonnie had hurt her back and wasn't up for dancing, that it was crowded as hell, and that the music wasn't that up my alley, and you've got a bad evening. Sure, I tried to get into it but to no avail. This was easily the worst night out dancing I've had in recent memory, so bad that even the company (fun as JP and Bonnie are) couldn't compensate.
Ugh. Maybe I should just stop trying to go out to these dance things...
