Attention System @ Vinyl

I meant to write about this earlier (as it happened before a number of things I've recently posted about), but here it is. Last weekend's local show I went to (I do this about once a week) was the Attention System show at Vinyl. It was definitely a full show (with five bands total), but I didn't get there until the second band's (November) set was almost through. The three bands I did catch in full then were:

Halo Stereo from Nashville
Attention System from Atlanta
The Drownout from Atlanta

Overall, the show was pretty solid, and unlike the last Attention System show I was able to catch, I feel the lineup was more inline with the types of music fans of any one of the bands might be looking to see when they go out to a show. I may not be into the style of all of these bands personally, but they all certainly know how to put on a show and how to play. I definitely feel that Attention System and The Drownout were the strongest musically and hope to keep in touch with members of both groups.

The most incredible thing about the experience though was how nice Attention System's bass player Chris was in offering me so many networking options by introducing me to a number of musicians in the room throughout the evening. I met a couple people I might be able to work with, and plenty more who would be great to know in trying to get something started in town.

Overall, it was a fun night, and I look forward to the next Attention System show I can make it out to!
