2nd Band-Recruiting Rehearsal

So, as I mentioned before, after seeing The Pains of Being Pure at Heart Sunday night with Jeremy, my potential guitarist in my band, he offered for us to go jam at his place that night since the show got out earlier than expected. Now, even though he lives at his mom's place in Roswell, supposedly she's a very deep sleeper, so as long as we didn't get too loud, we weren't going to wake her.

Well, he showed me some of his equipment and played some riffs for me, and then I showed him some of the stuff I've been working on, having converted some of my stuff from my Master's degree into rock band material. Now, while the riffs and sections of my songs are still being developed, I think he was able to get the picture, and from what I could tell, he was really interested in the potential for a band. Enough so actually that he wanted to see if we could jam more in the morning the next day, which we did. So, Jeremy came over to my place with his gear at 10:30 the next morning, and we did more of the same, including listening to some recordings of my original material and even looking at some scores.

Overall, I would say these jam sessions/rehearsals went really well, and Jeremy looks to be a very promising addition to the band, should he still be interested in making it happen once we get it up and running. I'm actually going to see Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun again tonight, and I've invited both Jeremy and the keyboardist (Mike) to join me, so perhaps this will be their first chance to meet.

Things are starting to take off...
