Summer Work False Start

A couple weeks ago, just prior to the end of the local public schools' last day of class, had someone asked me how work was going, I would have said something to the effect of "Things are going great, actually! Just after my return from Vancouver, I got a number of new clients via word-of-mouth, so much so that come the beginning of the Summer, I should be making almost 50% more than I was weeks ago!"

Well, I was wrong. Sure, at this exact moment I am making a bit more than I was when I had made my prediction, but not by nearly as much as I had foreseen. See, I have a list of about six different clients that had expressed strong interested in getting started as soon as the Summer season began, but almost all of them are being very slow to get the ball rolling, despite my regular inquiries on the subject perhaps once a week. Add to this the fact that a handful of students have decided to more or less take off for the Summer, and I'm ultimately not doing that much better than I was months ago at all.

Still, things could be much worse, and at least I have a handful of potentially promising leads, but it's just not what I was hoping for. Oh well...
