Discover Mills

One of my more recent additions to my client list has me driving up about 30 minutes North-East of the Atlanta beltway into a heavily suburbanized area with lots and lots of newish stripmalls, an arena, and even two large malls: one of which is the largest mall in Georgia (The Mall of Georgia) and the other a glorified outlet mall called Discover Mills.

Ultimately, this Mills outlet is no different than any of the other ones out there (I've also been to Opry Mills in Nashville), but the reason I'm writing is simply to point out how trashy a place like this can be. Most of the stores are shit (even for an outlet), there are way too many kids there (like, little kids, not trendy teens), and the place has a cheap amusement park feel to it and therefore attracts people who are too poor to actually go to an amusement park and/or too trashy to care (sorry, but it's true).

Now, although The Mall of Georgia certainly has its share of patrons I would care less to be around (it IS essentially in the country, after all), at least it has a lot of great stores. All this said, I think it's rather amusing that about a month ago when I went shopping at The Mall of Georgia I almost went to Discover Mills instead, thinking the two were very similar...
