Now that I'm caught up with South Park: Season III, it was a breeze getting into the even better Season IV. Here are some highlights:
Timmy 2000:
Timmy (the retarded kid in the wheelchair) ends up joining a rock band as the lead singer. Hilarity ensues. Also, the kids get hooked on Ritalin, which is pretty funny.
Cartman Joins NAMBLA:
In an attempt to find more "mature" friends, Cartman forsakes his other buddies and decides to hang out with older men whom he meets on the internet and who are (of course) interested in young boys. The best line is when, in a chatroom, some older man tells Cartman he's 8.5 inches, and Cartman responds by saying he doesn't hang with midgets...
Do The Handicapped Go To Hell?...Probably:
A two-part episode featuring the boys getting religious out of fear of hellfire, Satan dealing with his torn interest in his current boyfriend and Saddam Hussein, Cartman becoming a street preacher, and a special reappearance of God the Father (who, once again, is a goofy-looking monster).
Trapper Keeper:
An episode that somehow manages to combine significant references to the Terminator franchise, Akira, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Bill Cosby, Rosie O'Donnell, and even the 2000 election scandal. Nice job!
Overall, I would say this was the most consistent and solid season of the first four for sure. Looking forward to Season V!
