Although Atlanta's seasons aren't as sharply contrasted as those somewhere north of here like Bloomington, the recent transition into Fall from Summer has definitely been noticeable...and in a good way. In general, despite liking the ability to comfortably wear shorts and sandals, I really kinda dislike Summer, especially down here in the humid South. I also don't like Spring all that much, as it's often almost as bad as Summer and has all the annoying allergens in the air. And, although I do like Winter a good bit, nothing really compares with Fall.
Fall has the best of all of the seasons: the crisp air of Winter, the ability to still dress fairly lightly as in Summer, and the beautiful transitional flora of Spring (without the allergens). Plus, Fall represents new beginnings for me, largely because I still haven't really stopped seeing Fall Semester as the true beginning of the year. Fall seems to have a certain amount of excitement and business that's unfortunately lacking in the seemingly exciting but ultimately just lazy Summer months, and it's this kind of excitement I crave right now...the sense that something's changing.
On that note, let's just hope this Fall ushers in a new party in the Executive office as well: then it will most certainly be the best season of this year... =)
