Tonight I had Indian with Candace in the city, but I'm not really blogging about this particular meal so much as my growing fondness for Indian cuisine in general. I'm not sure when I had my first Indian meal, but I know it's one of those cuisines that I tend to try when I'm out of the country (I had it in London, Berlin, and Brussels, if not a few more European cities). Although I often group Indian food with Thai, I think this is rather unfair, as I find Indian food to be not only more varied, but also much tastier than Thai, even on its worst day. That said, I don't typically order particularly spicy food (in either cuisine), and I tend to favor the sweeter curries and sauces. And there's no question that I love nan.
The good news is that I think Candace enjoyed the Indian place tonight a good bit, perhaps more than she had remembered liking it in the past, so hopefully this will open up a whole new dining option for us. I'm not sure how many Indian places are scattered around the city (especially in contrast to the relatively large number of Thai places), but hopefully we'll try a few new ones out in the upcoming months.
