Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too
Kinda loving this song right now...it's from the rock-opera pop-punk group Say Anything, to whom I was musically introduced via their lead singer Max Bemis' appearance on Forgive Durden's very own rock opera CD, Razia's Shadow, which I picked up over a month ago.
Now, although it's a silly song, it also taps into a certain mentality I think I can relate to as the stereotypical nice-guy whose heart is on his sleeve and is often sexually frustrated due to the way I fit into the world as a relationship guy. As such, the song/video kinda sum up how I generally feel whenever I'm single, which of course has been the case for the past three months and is therefore very fresh on my mind. To be fair, I'm not quite sure this is the message other people would get out of this song (hell, upon closer examination I'm not even sure myself), but something about it still manages to speak to me this way...
So, combine all this with a cute video, an infectious dance beat, and a (Jewish) lead singer who in many respects presents himself as someone like me, and I was hooked. On top of all this, I really feel like this song is quite well-written for what it is, leaving me kinda wishing I had written it...always a good sign. Anyway, I haven't yet picked up the album that this track comes from, but it's quickly rising in priority on my WishList.
