My body is really run down right now. It started a couple weeks ago when I started getting occasional dull stomach pains. Then I developed serious recurrent headaches when I went to get new contacts and started messing with my vision (they were uncomfortable, so I was switching between them and my glasses for a while). And recently, for some reason I can't seem to figure out, I started getting really bad neck pains and have been feeling quite lethargic and drained. The weird thing is that I don't have any typical symptoms of a common illness, but I DO feel sick in a strange way.
Maybe it's the changing seasons (particularly with Georgia's really high pollen count), maybe it's the contacts, maybe it's my recent pattern of putting a lot of time between my three meals a day, maybe it's the stress of this upcoming wedding, maybe it's my irregular sleep schedule, or maybe I am just sick somehow. My immune system always seems to be pretty decent: I usually only get sick once a year. Last year in Holland, I got sick right around this time as well, just before I went to London. During the previous year, I got sick in the weeks immediately preceding my Masters Recital, but I blame this entirely on stress. Finally, the first year of my time in Bloomington, I got sick in January, possibly due to adjusting to the much colder Indiana weather (this is when I got my infamous Salsa Toy).
Regardless of what's going on, I hope whatever this is ends soon. It's really putting a damper on my mood and making me just want to stay inside, so to try to counteract this effect, I'm going to go bike-riding today for the first time in a long while.
