Spring Break

Kinda out of topics for the moment, so I'm gonna touch briefly on the fact that I made significantly less money teaching last week due to the area's public schools being on Spring Break. In fact, I might have made only a third of what I usually make.

I'm starting to get very close to starting a new policy whereby my clients pay me for a whole month in advance, this way ensuring that they never just try to skip a payment I was expecting due to scheduling conflicts (naturally, we would have to then reschedule their lesson). I can't tell you how many of my clients think it's fair to just not have a lesson some given week, often informing me of this with very little notice, just because they're schedules can't fit it in. I know not having a lesson doesn't seem like a bit hit to my income, but at $50 an hour it adds up really quickly.

Anyway, to make things worse, some of my clients who were on vacation last week also managed to forget that our lessons were resuming this week, so I now have to reschedule at least one, which can be difficult, especially considering this is my sister's wedding week. Whatever...
