I don't really know what happened to my interest in wrestling since I moved home... Somehow I went from subscribing to the 24/7 WWE On Demand channel while living with Dave and Andrew, seeing two live events, hosting a WrestleMania 22 party, keeping up with wrestling while in Europe despite not having it on TV, and even ordering WrestleMania 23 online while in the NL, to not watching it at all (either on TV or online) and not giving too much thought to seeing WrestleMania 24, which aired on Sunday night.
It's kinda sad actually. Wrestling was really fun for a while there, but I guess I just lost interest. Believe it or not, I think it all started going downhill when I got a Mac. See, I got my Mac when I was still living in Europe (in May), so the only way I could keep up with wrestling was online. Unfortunately, WWE's website streams their video clips as WMV files, which are notoriously poorly supported on Macs (even if you have the translator thing, whatever it's called). So, although I could still watch the clips, they took longer to download and were ultimately more frustrating than they were worth.
Then, upon moving home, I know I could have started watching Raw, ECW, and Smackdown on TV, but I actually don't like watching them on TV, much for the same reasons as I don't like watching ANY TV show on a weekly basis: I simply don't like being tied to my television at a certain time every Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. Besides, WWE shows tend to have WAY too many commercials, and the content is usually lacking. It was for this reason that I loved watching highlights online...I got to miss the commercials and only saw the good bits.
Oh well. Here's to an old passion, gone for the indefinite future...
