The Wedding Itself

Onto the wedding. After taking a few of the obligatory pictures with the wedding party, the groomsmen helped escort any women that wanted escorting into the sanctuary. Shortly thereafter, the service began. My sister entered with the less typical (but still appropriate) Canon in D, and it was during this time (and the part where my dad gave her away) that I got closest to crying (surprisingly, I didn't end up doing so). The wedding was presided over by my parents' pastor's son (who is also a pastor), George Wright. As I mentioned before, the service was very Jesus-centered, including the reading of Bible verses, the near-omnipresent mention of God or his son, and other religious moments included prayer, communion, and the lighting of the unity candle. Overall, it was all well done and quite beautiful, and the quartet added a lot to the ambience (more on them in another post).

When all was said and done, the service was too short for a brother who wanted to stay in the moment a little longer, but it was certainly everything my family could have asked for. Again, as is typical, the ceremony itself was followed by more pictures of the wedding party while all our guests made their way to the reception about 5 minutes away from the church.
