The Reception

Behind again...ugh. Almost done with the wedding posts though...

So, after the pics after the wedding, the wedding party headed over to the reception at the Atlanta Country Club, where we had a brief bite to eat in a private room before being announced to the rest of our guests (who had been waiting for our arrival for a bit). Then we were announced, after which we had all the obligatory dances (bride and groom, father and bride, mother and groom). After this, I was swarmed by old family friends (some even from as far as California!) whom I hadn't seen in years and whom therefore wanted some serious catching up time, leaving me little chance to get anything to eat (or surprisingly, drink).

I wasn't alone at the reception though, despite it being attended by mostly my Mom and sister's friends. Naturally, Candace was there with me, and Evan Cobb and his girlfriend Leslie (both of whom are good friends and also happened to be in the quartet for the wedding) were there as well. The band we had, Moxie, was quite good, and did some great (and fairly authentic) covers of typical party music (including some Johnny Cash).

Overall, just like the wedding itself, the night came and went too fast. The weirdest thing about it was how unsurreal it turned out to be...I was expecting it all to be a strange experience, but it ultimately just felt very natural and comfortable. In the end, I'm not sure it could have gone off any better, nor have I been to a better wedding, so I think it's safe to say it was a big success!
