In preparation for my upcoming beach trip (more on that in my next post), I went on a fairly serious shopping spree today, buying what amounts to my upcoming Summer attire. The main goal here was buying some clothes that would serve me well for Atlanta's hot Summers, especially considering previous years spent in both Bloomington and The Hague encouraged me to spend most of my shopping money on heavier clothes, leaving me with little to wear here at this time of year. So, I was focused on shorts and t-shirts, for which I aimed for color schemes other than black & white, since that seems like all I've bought over the past three years.
In general, I feel I was pretty successful at both finding some more colorful clothing as well as Summery attire. The biggest surprise for me was found at Express Men, which is currently running a series of graphic t-shirts which (contrary to prior lines) featured positive ideas...things like "Loyalty" and "Honor" (as opposed to things like "I like my beaver shaved" and "I'm in it for the bitches", both of which would be accompanied by a picture of the literal animal involved). Two of these shirts that I picked up had messages I could really identify with: "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely" and "Truth Over Faith". In fact, in the case of the latter, I didn't even like the shirt in and of itself all that much, but I agreed with the slogan so much that I felt I should have it and wear it proudly. Not sure what caused the change or direction for Express Men, but I was certainly impressed.

Thank you for shopping at your local Express store. :) Anyway, keep that "Truth Over Faith" t-shirt. I bought one myself, only because I was told that the shirt was being recalled due to its statement and possible offense to religious individuals. It's unfortunate that people are not able to express themselves in a simple manner nowadays without offending anybody. Some people just need to relax. Anyway, that shirt is now very limited to the few that have bought it. It was recalled only a few days after it was put on the sales floor.
