One Day Off for the Next Month

Ugh. I meant to blog before midnight, but now I'm going to regret it for the rest of the month. Why? Because I figure out whether or not I'm on task with my blogging by comparing the number of posts I've made in a given month (see the left hand column of this page) with the current day of the month. For instance, assuming I've successfully posted one blog for each day of all preceding months, I know I'm on task if the number of posts I've made for a given month equals the current day of that month.

So, because I failed to blog for April 30th before midnight, this post will now be permanently registered as being in May, thereby making my posts/day-of-the-month relationship off by one, which I'll have to keep in mind for the rest of the month. You might say, "why didn't you just lie to the computer and post this blog at an earlier time?" Well, although I can input a false time of day for a given post, I cannot input a false date (Blogger is too smart for that). The only solution possible (trust me, I've tried) is to change my time zone, but that unfortunately affects the time zone of all my other posts, thereby rendering their dates and times an equal amount off as well.

I know this sounds like a stupid problem, but it's not the first time I've had to deal with it (notice February and March have incorrect post counts for how many days were in each month), so I know from previous experience that it's going to drive me a tiny bit nuts for the next month. Call me anal retentive, but this is how I work... =)

wow bro, that's tough, but i sort of understand. while i don't post every day, i hate posting more than once on any given day - i don't like the way it breaks up the look of my lj. but sometimes, for whatever reason, i really want to, and so i end up post- or back-dating the second post to a different day.

but livejournal DOES allow me to date things in the past, so it's all good...
