2nd Zephyr Rehearsal

Almost immediately upon returning to Atlanta from Bloomington I was scheduled to conduct my second rehearsal of the Zephyr Brass Choir. Actually, the first thing I did upon my return was to rush to a local Kinko's to print out parts for the first movement of a Philip Glass piece I had arranged for them over the weekend, after which I hastily grabbed a 6" roast beef sub at Subway before rushing to the rehearsal.

Upon arriving, I was disheartened to see only half the ensemble there, presumably under legitimate excuses for their absence. Due to our low turnout, we cut the rehearsal in half, only running through the handful of pieces we had previously gone through plus the new arrangement I had just printed out. The worst part was that our diminished attendance that day quite noticeably affected our sound , despite having at least one instrument from each choir section present.

Hopefully this won't be a permanent trend, as this group could quickly grow VERY tiring working with no one there, especially considering all the hard work I'll be putting in arranging pieces for them. I've got my hopes up though that this was just a fluke...
