Fireworks Technology
As I mentioned in the last post, Candace and I went to see the fireworks last night at Lenox, Atlanta's premier mall, in Buckhead (our uptown area). Although I'm generally a bit apathetic about fireworks, I have to say that the fireworks they had last night were pretty amazing. It seemed to me that they were using a few different types of fireworks I had never seen before, leading me to think that pyrotechnic technology might have advanced a lot since I last paid any attention to fireworks. The fireworks that amazed me the most were the type that exploded in the air only to have those pieces split off in separate directions a few seconds later, creating the feeling that the fireworks almost were moving on their own. Sure, there were plenty of the standard fireworks I've seen my whole life, but it's nice to think that someone out there is working to take it to the next level.
