If you didn't catch it, former Democratic Presidential candidate Bill Richardson (current Governor of New Mexico) recently endorsed Barack Obama at a Rally in Portland, Oregon. This endorsement followed shortly after Obama's praise-worthy speech on race relations in the States from a few days before. Although Obama's speech was certainly moving, I feel that Richardson's endorsement speech was almost even more so, expressing so eloquently why myself and most-likely millions of other people have come to support this man. Here's the speech:
Finally, following this speech, Obama spoke of Bill Richardson in a manner which is leading some to speculate that Richardson might eventually be Obama's running mate, were he to run as the Democratic Nominee. Personally, this sits VERY well with me. I think that like Obama, Bill Richardson does have our country's best interest in mind, and he strikes me as a genuinely good person. Of all of the other people who ran in this primary election, I think Richardson would definitely make the strongest running mate for Obama, both in terms of character/intent and his stance of certain policy issues.
Naturally, this could all be speculation, but it's exciting to think about...
