Although DJ Girly Beats and I were supposed to do our last trial run at Platinum this Friday before the club made its decision whether or not we would stay for good, the club went ahead pulled the plug early, telling her that they didn't need us this week. This is kind of a bummer, even though I'm not all that surprised. We weren't really bringing in that many people, and I'm not sure how great this location is for bringing in people who listen to the kind of music we spin (I mean, the main club next door spins top 40 rap to a bunch of suburban kids most-likely ignorant of higher dance music).
All this said, I feel really fortunate to have gotten to get my start at Platinum. It gave me a bunch of experience and just enough cred and connections to get me going in the right direction. Now, with nothing else currently lined up, I need to get my ass in motion and start trying to make something happen, hopefully soon...
