In wanting to find out a little more about my personality, I recently took a Myers-Briggs-style personality test and came out as an ENTP (Extroverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving). Candace took the test also, and to my surprise, she came out as the exact opposite. Anyway, here's a description Candace found online describing likely characteristics someone with my score might have. To save you time reading it, I'm just going to take a few excerpts out that I feel ring pretty true:
- love to argue, both for its own sake, and to show off debate skills
- sometimes confuse or inadvertently hurt those who don't understand or accept the concept of argument as a sport
- have a perverse sense of humor
- enjoy playing devil's advocate
- fond of "toys", physical or intellectual, the more sophisticated the better. they tend to tire of these quickly, however, and move on to new ones.
- optimistic, but extremely petulant about small setbacks and inconveniences (major setbacks they tend to regard as challenges)
- have little patience with those they consider wrongheaded or unintelligent, showing little restraint in demonstrating this
- extremely genial, if not charming, when not being harassed by life in general
- capable of bonding very closely and, initially, suddenly, in relationships
- good at acquiring friends who are as clever and entertaining as they are
I agree strongly with all of these points...some are even dead on (i.e. I've seen recent examples of them in action). Some of these characteristics have been with me a LONG time (finding friends like me, bonding with people quickly, being nice, generally optimistic, and fond of toys), and some, although present before, have become much more augmented since returning from Europe (enjoying argument, having little patience for people I don't respect).
Overall, fairly accurate, I think.

Ryan,
I'm an INFP. I guess we're different people after all!
