So, onto the 2nd drummer I auditioned... Once again, we're not 100% sure about this drummer, so I don't want to go into too much detail, but it's fair to say that he was more of a fit than the first. Ultimately, we're (I say "we" because there are three of us now who are more or less in this band for real) going to try out one or two other guys before settling on who's the best fit for us.
Drummer No.2 has the following going for him: he's a better drummer than the first, he's closer to our age and outlook, and he has built for himself a really solid home studio which would be fairly beneficial were we to start recording. As a person, I like this guy a lot and hope to keep our friendship up regardless of who ends up fitting the band the best, so hopefully that never becomes jeopardized. In the end, he's most definitely gotten further than the first guy I tried out, as I've met with him both just the two of us and also with the rest of the group, so we'll just have to see how it feels with a little more time under his belt to get the jive of the band.
