Nightmare On Elm St. 2

Sometimes I prefer not to have multiple movie posts in a row, but I did watch the first two Nightmare on Elm Street films fairly close together, so why not? Now, while the first film was easily one of the best of the eight Freddy-related movies that have been made, the second is quite possibly the worst. To be fair, although I've seen all eight, it's been awhile, so I'll reserve that judgment for later, but let's just say I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be the worst of the lot.

The plot of the second film is kinda convoluted and doesn't really fit into the lore of the rest of the films: evidently Freddy wants to come back but can't do so without possessing the body of someone in the real world, so he finds this kid to possess and starts breaking all the rules the other films have established. On top of this, the cinematography is nowhere near as good as in the first film, there's way too much confusing dialogue between the main character and his girlfriend, and virtually nothing in the film is frightening or creepy.

This is definitely a skip if you're not a purist about seeing the whole Nightmare collection...
