Nightmare On Elm Street

Target is one of my favorite places to buy movies, because they often have packages of two or three films for a very low price, films I probably wouldn't buy if they weren't that cheap but would love to have otherwise. So, the last time I was at Target I picked up not one, but two compilations, each with four films for only $10! The first set I bought was of the first four Nightmare On Elm Street films, of which I've been a fan for awhile. Thus far, I've only watched the first two, but I'll be sure to write about the others when I get around to them.

So, it's widely recognized that the first Nightmare is easily the best, largely because it was the first of two actually written and directed by Wes Craven himself. Although this type of movie isn't really scary for an adult, some of the visuals in the film (though dated) are still pretty strikingly creepy. No, the script's not Shakespeare, but it's a whole lot better than any of those found in the Friday the 13th films. Plus, this is Johnny Depp's first film, so what's not to love?!?

Overall, a fun film, and way better than most of the other films of its ilk. Check it out if you haven't seen it!
