Summer Teaching Wrap-Up

Back in late May, I had written a post describing my disappointing lack of otherwise-expected new clients for the Summer months of teaching, many of whom just randomly lost contact with me after having been positive about starting up lessons soon. Well, although I was bummed then, it's even worse now: in the past few weeks, so many of my clients have been on vacation that I've essentially been cut down to about one third of my regular yearly income (hell, this week I only taught for about six hours!), or you could say I'm only making one quarter of what I should have been making had my new potential clients not flaked out on me.

Needless to say, I'm not exactly rolling in cash right now, so I'm kinda excited that Summer's over (school starts the week after next) and my vacationing clients will be back, hopefully meaning a large jump in income for me. Add to this my upcoming European adventure (which is far from cheap), and I'm actually kinda excited to be moving home with my parents in November (more on that later), where I'll be saving around $650 a month (and probably more, considering I won't have to commute so much).

As I've said before, holidays and Summer are the worst times of year for my line of work. Sadly, it's almost as if I benefit from people not having fun...
